This page lists all known phishing campaigns and fake emails pretending to be from Webregister.
Phishing is a growing cyber threat where scammers send fake messages to trick you into revealing sensitive information like login credentials, credit card numbers, or domain details.

Important: Webregister will never ask you to share your password or payment information via email.

🚨 Recent Phishing Alerts

1. Fake Domain Renewal Reminder (July 2024)

Subject: “Urgent: Renew your domain or it will be suspended”

Sender: support@webregister-ke.com (Fake)

Description: This phishing email warned users that their domain would be locked if not renewed immediately.
It contained a fake payment link leading to a cloned Webregister portal.
Do not click any links — delete this email immediately.


2. Fake Account Verification Notice (August 2024)

Subject: “Action required: verify your Webregister account”

Sender: noreply@webreg.co (Fake)

Description: Attackers tried to collect login details using a fake login page that looked identical to Webregister’s client area.
Always check the URL before entering credentials. The only official login page is:
https://clients.webregister.co.ke.


3. Fake Invoice Attachment (October 2024)

Subject: “Invoice for your recent service renewal”

Attachment: invoice_renewal.pdf.exe

Description: The attachment contained malware designed to steal passwords stored in your browser.
If you downloaded or opened it, run a full antivirus scan immediately and change all passwords.

🔍 How to Verify Suspicious Emails

Before acting on any email claiming to be from Webregister, follow these steps:

  • Check the sender’s domain – only @webregister.co.ke is official.
  • Hover over links – verify they lead to https://www.webregister.co.ke or https://clients.webregister.co.ke.
  • Watch out for urgent or threatening language.
  • Look for spelling or formatting errors.
  • Check the email header for spoofing (in Gmail: open the email → click ⋮ → “Show original”).

📤 Report a Phishing Attempt

If you receive a suspicious email or believe you’ve interacted with a phishing site:

  • Do not click any links or open attachments.
  • Forward the email to: security@webregister.co.ke
  • Include the full email headers if possible.
  • Then delete the email from your inbox.

Our team will review and take immediate action to block similar attempts.
